Green Architecture of Beachaus II by inHaus Development Posted: 28 Aug 2012 08:44 AM PDT Beachaus II is another green architecture project of InHaus Development, designed by Elemental Design, and built by Method Homes. It is the successor of Beachaus I. It adopts sustainable design and prefab construction. Actually it received LEED platinum certification.
This eco construction is located in White Rock, British Columbia. It was built to reflect the homes built along the California coastline, and was built in five modules, completed with some sustainable features and eco friendly technology to achieve high energy efficiency. It becomes the first home in the area which can receive the LEED platinum certification., with its motto of "live smart, not large". This sustainable architecture home has a solid concrete foundation which is very contrast with its airy design. It has 12-foot ceilings to provide good air circulation. Some features, such as high-performance windows, a tight thermal envelope, HRV air-exchange system efficient spray foam insulation, rainwater collector system, radiant heating system, etc, are provided to achieve high sustainability. This sustainable home has three bedrooms and four bathrooms. A large office/studio space is also available, separated from the living area. The views from indoor are focused to the Semiahmoo Bay near the house. Some outdoor spaces are available for outdoor activities. |
