Green Architecture of House Lindau by k_m architectur Posted: 21 Aug 2012 08:16 AM PDT This is House Lindau, a sustainable home designed by k_m architectur , built in Lindau, Germany. Sustainable energy becomes its important sustainable feature. Simple design and its beautiful lake view provide a cozy feeling for the inhabitants.
This eco construction was built with direct access to the spectacular view of a Lake Constance in Lindau, Germany. It has two sections. The rear section covers the bedrooms and some functional rooms. The front section covers the open dining room and living room which are directly faced the lake. An open site with a living tree is provided in the front side, at the center part of the house. It seems that the designer wanted to provide a good mixture between the house and the nature. The sustainable home is powered by sustainable energy source too, from solar energy provided by photovoltaic panels installed at the rooftop. The heating system is provided by geothermal system, supported also by a fireplace in the living area. Floor-to-ceiling glazing at the front side will provide optimal view access and also natural daylighting for the house. For the material used, cedar wood materials were used majority for this eco friendly construction.
