Sustainable Design of Walnut Farms Retreat by Feldman Architecture Posted: 21 Jul 2012 08:10 AM PDT This is Walnut Farms Retreat, a beautiful and green architecture design created by Feldman Architecture from San Fransisco. This sustainable construction was built by using some eco building materials and is scheduled to receive the USGBC's LEED certification. Some sustainable features are also provided to achieve high sustainability.
This eco friendly building is the largest project created by the architectural firm. It has unique design and form, thanks to its rammed earth walls that may help to control the temperature of the building, to minimize the energy use. The multicolored walls stand tall against the surrounding hills, very contrast and giving a beautiful accent. Sustainable energy is provided by solar energy and geothermal, for electricity and for heating purposes. By these, this house may achieve carbon neutral condition. Materials used for the eco construction were chosen from durable and eco friendly materials, like concrete, stone, natural wood, and powder-coated steel. This green architecture building has eight bedrooms and seven and half bathrooms. By all of its sustainable features, this house have been considered to receieve green building certification of LEED Gold level. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
