Sustainable House from Shipping Containers, Liray House Posted: 14 Jul 2012 10:25 AM PDT Liray House is a sustainable house created by Rubén Rivera Peede. It was designed to provide an earthquake-resistant home, with affordable price. Some sustainable features were added to create a green architecture building house.
This eco construction is created from two 40′ and three 20′ shipping containers. It is located in Santiago, Chile. The 20′ containers cover living room and kitchen, while the 40′ containers cover edrooms and bathrooms. The home is lifted from the ground to provide minimal site disturbances. The plumbing was set in the crawl space. Some modifications were done for this sustainable building house. The original floor of the containers were changed and replaced with hardwood flooring. The balconies are made from the containers’ doors. To provide high sustainability, some sustainable features were used, such as nergy-efficient windows, insulations, drywall finishing for interior. This green architecture house is built in three months for about $75,000 USD. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
