Actually this is a beach house with several sustainable features like green roof, energy efficient appliances, etc. This beautiful house was built with a lot of hand-crafted features and may express a love of nature.
This 2 story green building architecture covers open floor plan with 3 bedrooms available. By this house, the owner wants to express the love to the nature and, and it is expected to be an everlasting design. High sustainability is an important consideration. Some sustainable strategies are applied. This green building was design with passive solar strategy applied to maximize the solar energy capture. This energy is then used for heating and daylighting. ICF materials were used, providing good insulated envelope. For the heating energy source, beside the solar water heater, this house is also completed with geothermal system, energy heat recovery ventilators, and a high-efficiency heat pump. 5.9 kW photovoltaic system will provide adequate electricity for the house. A green roof planted by sedum, wild strawberry and pennisetum acts as additional roof insulation, also a rainwater catchment system, and fire resistance. For real, the energy produced by this house is more than it is needed. The green building construction was built by involving several sustainable building materials, such as FSC certified wood, reclaimed timbers, fly-ash and other recycled materials. By all of its features, it should be a good showcase for sustainable home construction. |
