Green Architecture of Vail Residence in Georgia

Vail Residence, a house of Lisa Vail, was designed by Jordan Williams of plexus r+d. It is a contemporary sustainable home, also a Hansgrohe showcase house. Some sustainable features were used to provide high sustainability.

This eco construction has good insulated 2×6 wall construction, aluminum clad wood windows with low E4 glazing to conserve energy. This system also is supported by an Energy Star roof (R60), Energy Star appliances, and a Mitsubishi Mr Slim ductless heat pump system. Alternative energy source is provided by a 3.8 kW Suniva photovoltaic array.

Some environmentally friendly building materials are also used for this sustainable architecture building, such as a lime-based stucco, non-VOC paint, fiber-cement lab siding, strand-woven Dasso bamboo floors, countertops from recycled materials, etc. drought tolerant landscape and water saving appliances are also provided, supported by open cell driveway pavers, to conserve water.
