This sustainable house is intended as a case study of eco friendly construction. The design and building process of this green building house was done in two phase. The first space was to design and built two separate volumes, connected by a bridge. After some adjacent lots were available, the building then became a combination of four two-story buildings connected by three enclosed bridges, facing to the courtyard, just like Balinese Modern style. Previously, this house has been used as a location for television, movies, and still photography.

This beautiful house is built with sustainable materials to provide sustainability. Recycled materials are used, such several types of FSC certified wood materials, from Ipe, Mahogany, and Fir. The Syndecrete® concrete materials used are also has at least 41% recycled content. The concretes are lighter, and stronger than ordinary concrete. The concrete also eliminate mold and dust caused by carpet, requires less maintenance, and is more environmentally sensitive than carpet, wood, or other floor finishes.

Energy management is an important think to be considered. This environmental friendly house is 70% powered by an array of 20 photovoltaic panels on the roof.  Heating water is also done by utilizing sun heating collected by flat-plate collectors. The hot water is then used for radiant heating system in the concrete floors.

The unique feature is that the materials used for the green construction act as a kind of "solar sink", to provide passive solar energy transfer. They will store the sun's warmth during the day, and keeping it from overheating the interior. After that, they slowly release the heat during the night. An effective way to control the house temperature can be achieved by this way.
