Green Home Design of Cluny House by Guz Architects Posted: 21 Mar 2011 11:01 PM PDT Guz Architects usually produce architecture designs inspired by the nature. This wonderful green home design of Cluny Home is one of them. This green house design was made as a proof that technology, planning and design can be applied sensitively to generate a comfortable, luxurious, yet sustainable family home. This house was built in Singapore in a 1,505 sq m project area.
The green design is laid around a central water court as the focal point of this site. Just like another Guz Architects’s concepts, this project was also done to create a “nature based” construction, where all of the materials, technology, and structure express the nature evidence in every part of the house. Roof garden is one of the features to provide this perception. This sustainable design also involves the passive cooling design and cross ventilation to maintain its air circulation. The plantation also provide fresh air for the house. Renewable energy sources are applied, such as photovoltaic panels for electricity, and solar panels for water heating. The roof gardens are also used to collect and recycle the rain water, and keep them at the irrigation tanks. Some other green products, such as recycled teak and artificial timber, are also used without compromising the finite resources of our environment. Some modern systems are used, such as the state of the art EIB systems, and the security systems. The project really can provide proof that the using of technology may be integrated with the nature in terms to keep the nature, rather than to destroy it. The sustainable design also may provide the seamless transition between modern tehcnology and the nature. It can be a good example on describing how green designs can help to protect the world from global warming. |
