Sustainable and Modern Design of Houston Townhouse Posted: 21 Aug 2010 04:02 AM PDT This is Maxie Moderne Townhouse, located in Houston. This sustainable and modern townhouse was designed by Green Modern Design, LLC. This house is located in an infill lot near Memorial Park in Houston, Texas.
This townhouse was designed with a lot of sustainable features, and modern touches. This house has 4 story completed with roof terrace. 3 bedrooms, 2 garages, and 3.5 bathroom. This house was considering efficient energy usages and natural resources conservation, from the concept process to completion. With all of its sustainable features, this house can receive LEED Gold certification. This house is powered by solar power. Based on HERS Rating, this house is 56% more efficient on overall energy using than ordinary house, and uses 33% less water. 2.1 kW photovoltaic panels are provided at the roof, provide 25% reduction in energy usage. 16 SEER HVAC system are zoned to each floor, provide 96% more efficient on air conditioning. The user of this house also receives 30% Federal Solar Tax Rebate.
To provide more healthy indoor air, zero VOC paints, primer and enamel are used. Automatic exhaust vents are also provided in all bathrooms and garages to exhaust out odor. There are also some CO monitor to monitor Carbon Monoxide level in each floors.
