Prefab Green Home Office by Academy of Art University’s Students Posted: 18 Aug 2010 05:37 PM PDT This modern and sustainable home office was designed by the students of Academy of Art University, San Fransisco. This building won citation from the American Institute of Architects , East Bay (AIAEB).
This is a two level home office building. Some sustainable materials was used, such as recycled denim for insulation, reclaimed redwood for siding, mahogany for the door, etc. Aluminum materials were also used for window framing. The house also use cooper roof panel. The construction wastes were reduced to a value of 1 inch of waste for every 12 feet of materials used. Beside the sustainable materials, the house has some customizable furniture, such as desk, storage and shelving system. With these customizable furniture, the house can provide office facility, as well as the lounge area for the family. |
