A Unique Concept of Cajitas Felices by Pop-Arq Posted: 14 Jun 2010 12:30 AM PDT A unique concept of furniture are made by Pop-arq. Some furniture are packed on a block, just like a puzzle. It is called Cajitas Felices (or “Happy Meals”). The concept is to create a compact set of furniture for hotel. Just like Lego or puzzle, the furniture are designed so they can be compacted as boxes on a layer of gypsum rock. They are designed colorful. The main strategy is to define a size for every function and undermine action-boxes according to each program, solving the different types of room, reception and bar. Posted: 13 Jun 2010 11:06 PM PDT Houses in “PH” Condominium in Buenos Aires are usually aligned in a very long and narrow lot, connected through a corridor. This house is one of them, designed by Pop-Arq.
This unit is located in the middle of the condominium with no direct connection to the street. The house is opened to its own patio. The lot area is quite small, about 42 sq m. This house has two levels. Ground floor consists of kitchen, dining and living room, while the bedrooms are located in the first floor. Red-tin object are newly added, contains of toilette and bathroom, stairs and storage space. This part are built using light and thin materials, providing a larger and more usable functional area. The furniture (closet, lavatory, laundry and flower pot) are made from wood and metal materials, constructed with recycled materials of the old house. Orange recycled acrylics are used for the roof, allowing the sunlight to stream through, also providing the yellowish palette of colors of the wood. The patio is connected to the living room by a large folding windows. This provides a flexibility of enjoying the outdoor condition, the the temperate climate and good weather conditions that Buenos Aires offers.
