Modern and Unique Design of SODAE-House by VMX Architects Posted: 11 Jun 2010 01:57 AM PDT A very unique and modern house design was made by VMX Architecture. This house, called SODAE-House, has unusual geometry form. This house is located in Kostverlorenkade, an 1,200 sq m island between Amsterdam, Amstelveen and Ouderkerk aan de Amstel.
The starting point for the concept was the perception of the landscape, the distant high buildings of the Zuid As and the Rembrandt Tower as well as the view of the aeroplanes travelling to and from Schiphol. The living room and the kitchen are arranged on the first floor, in a loft-like space. The bedrooms and bathrooms are located in the ground floor. These rooms have garden view through some big clear glazing windows. The basement contains an additional programme such as a fitness room and a home cinema. The house forms an object in the landscape, while the island acts as the plinth. The interior is dominated by white paint color. It provides simple and modern sense of the design. |
