Unique Design of Villa San Valentino by Stephan Unger Posted: 03 Jun 2010 08:52 PM PDT This unique design of Villa San Valentino was created by Stephan Unger. This villa is designed to be used for the cohabitation of 3 generations with common spaces. The idea of the design is to create monolithic house with common spaces, under whose roof two independent habitation units are unified. It is designed to considering path of the sun in a 3 dimensional facade also to optimize the view to the surroundings. Considering the orientation of the views, the windows are set in such ways. The east-wing is looking towards Valle d'adige and the west-wing Val Venosta. Stephan Unger combined the modern aspect and traditional aspect in this design. The traditional aspect is represented by the the larch-wood shingle façade that represents the traditional craft of the Alps-region Upper Adige. Some materials were used in this projects, such as marble of Lasa, porphyr, granite, wood of the larch and the oak. They are typical for the place. |
