It has sustainable design, and also good energy efficiency.
This eco architecture house is located in North Carolina, on East Hargett Street. This house was designed to be an affordable, small, modern house, with compact and contemporary design. The neighborhood is also a series of tiny houses. The area itself is a growing modern area, east of downtown Raleigh. As sustainability becomes an important consideration for the architects, this sustainable architecture building was designed with some sustainable strategies to provide good energy efficiency. The house has an ultra tight envelope that may spare the energy resources, supported by the using of insulation. Passive solar orientation was also used and considered during the design. To provide natural daylighting, some glassed openings are also available. All of these were done to prevent energy losses. The eco construction was designed to have efficient plan, providing large and open living space. The architects clustered the the entryways, stairs, hallway, kitchen and a half bathroom on only one side of the building. This strategy provides sense of expansiveness. |
