Bamboo Orchard Subdivision Provides Sustainable Housing in Phillipines Posted: 09 Feb 2012 10:41 PM PST Bamboo Orchard Subdivision provides sustainable housing for low economic family in in Cabuyao, Phillipines. This project was designed by Buensalido+Architects. The design is very modern, and colorful, very different from the the typical "pigeon-hole" or "cookie-cutter" building types in the country. The houses were built by modular and prefabrication techniques.
The sustainable architecture buildings in this project were built by using custom-manufactured modular wall system made with 100% recycled HIMI (High Impact Moulded Inserts) bonded between two layers of fiber cement boards. The concrete was used also to form the monolithic structure . This system may provide a fast, hygienic, economical load-bearing construction system. To encourage natural day lighting, floor-to-ceiling windows are used. To control the solar heat over exposure, canopies and deep eaves are used. The architect designed this sustainable project in modern, contemporary design. They want to instill a sense of pride in the owners through architectural design and construction quality. The owners can choose their own favorite color. All of the sustainable houses have same basic design with variety features, shifted windows and arrangements. All of these will reflect a festive character that is Filipino in nature. |
