Sustainable Design of Eugenia House by Joao Diniz Posted: 04 Jan 2011 05:44 PM PST A Brazilian architect, Joao Diniz, created a beautiful and sustainable house design, Casa Eugenia or The Eugenia House. This green home design accommodates the needs of having a cool and artistic house.
This sustainable house is very unique on in shape and its framing and railings as they are made from unused materials, the reused sewer drain pipes. The roof also designed in such ways to provide protection from sun’s heat and stormy weather with the existing of overhang part, and creating a large space for the house. The house was designed tall to provide a good airy condition through all of the spaces. The upper and lower level of this sustainable house open completely to the adjacent patio. With big and wide glass windows on the front side of the house, natural lighting and optimal views to the surroundings are achieved. The ventilation also provide cooling air for the house, so fans are not needed. The green construction provide a way for good air circulation inside the house. The exterior part of this sustainable house design is completed with bas-relief art by a Brazilian artist, Jorge dos Anjos, influenced by African art. The side wall was made from mansory brick. With the green home plans involved, this house can prove that it is possible to have a beautiful and sustainable design in a building. It is a very cozy house, isn’t it ? |
