A Sustainable Home Design by StudioGreenBlue Posted: 23 Dec 2010 10:11 PM PST StudioGreenBlue, an architecture agency from Japan, created a sustainable home design in Fukaya, Saitama. This green home design involves some sustainable design concepts, especially to manage the temperature inside the house.
This house is located in the hottest place in Japan, surrounded by the spring onion field. The environment is very harsh. This eco friendly living was designed with a large opening that can be closed and opened. This large opening provides a feeling of wider house’s space. By this opening also, a sustainable house design concept is applied, the using of natural lighting to lighten the house. The unique aspect of this house is also provided by the using of concrete material for the louver. This material has a big caloric capacity. By configuring the concrete in such way near the closed large window, this material can be used to store the sun’s heat and use it on the cold season. In the other way, when the window is opened, this louver will act as a heat protection screen, and letting the wind to flow into the house, providing a cooler environment. By these mechanisms, this house do not need any air conditioners. This green living was designed very beautiful, considering not only the green home design, but also privacy and the Japanese house’s specialties. |
