Sustainable Minimalist Manifesto House by James & Mau Architectura Posted: 01 Jul 2010 07:52 PM PDT This minimalist sustainable design of Manifesto House was made by James & Mau Architectura for Infiniski, a construction company that focuses on sustainable building based on recycled, reused, non-polluting materials.
The modular prefab house is designed to take the energy advantages from the surroundings, depends on its position and construction. This house also provide possibility to be expanded in the future, as the user’s needs. This house is made from 3 recycled containers, has 2 levels. A container cut in two parts on the first level is used as the support structure for the containers on the second level. This structure provides a bridge form, creates an extra space that is isolated with thermo glass panels. This structure also responds to the bioclimatic needs of the house- Form follows Energy – and offers an effective natural ventilation system. It also takes maximal advantages from surrounding for the lighting and views. The exterior of the house is also designed using sustainable materials. It has two types of covers, wooden panels coming from sustainable forests on one side and recycled mobile pallets on the other. These pallets can open themselves in winter to allow the sun to heat the metal surface of the container walls and close themselves in summer to protect the house from the heat. The interior design is provided by Comodo, by considering the sustainable materials also. Both exterior and interior use up to 85% of recycled, reused and eco-friendly materials, such as : recycled cellulose and cork for insulation, recycled aluminum, iron and wood, noble wood coming from sustainable forests, ecological painting, eco-label ceramics. This house provides good outdoor living for the user. They can do sunbathing, outdoor dining, etc. |
