Prefab House on Sunset Ridge by Resolution: 4 Architecture Posted: 23 Jun 2010 12:49 AM PDT This house is used for a vacation house by a busy family in New York City. It is located on Sunset Ridge, perched on a hill. It is designed by Resolution: 4 Architecture. This 3,034 sq ft house has “L” shape. It has 2 bars. The first floor bar contains the public areas, such as living room, dining room, entertaining room, etc, while the second floor contains the private space. Some decks are also available in both floors to connect between the indoor and outdoor. An outdoor fireplace is available in the second floor deck with the views of the surroundings as the added value. Aluminum clad windows are used to maximize the day-lighting and optimize the views to the surrounding landscape. Ipe woods are used for the decks. The house also have cedar siding and also used cement board as materials. The bamboo materials are used for the flooring. Some sustainable features are also available :

This house becomes the prototype of other Marmol Radziner‘s prefab house. This house belongs to Leo Marmol and Alisa Becket. It is orientated to San Jacinto peak view. It has outdoor living areas inspired by the climate, which double the 2000 square foot interior spaces. It is also completed with a prefab carport. This house has 4 house modules, and 6 deck modules. The sunshade modules are also available to provide the protection from the sun. Sheltered living spaces blend indoors with outdoors, simultaneously extending and connecting the house to the north wing, which holds a guest house and studio space. The shape of this house provides a protected, exterior environment that includes a pool and fire pit The house is 100 % powered by solar panels. The sunshades protect the house from sun light, and the concrete floors provide passive solar heat gain when in cold season. Beside its prefab features, the sustainable features also become its added value. This prefab house is designed as a guest house, office, or vacation retreat. It becomes the largest type of single module accessory buildings they have. Environmental-friendly features are also provided for this house. It have recycled denim insulation, low VOC paint, and LED lighting. The solar panel is also available for option. Eco timber bamboo floors are also used throughout the home. The house is completed with a full kitchen with sleek American walnut cabinets, living room, bedroom, bathroom, and plenty of outdoor deck space. The windows are made from aluminum materials.
